Tuesday…with my Mum’s flowers

image I had quite a long weekend, as firstly I drove up to Sheffield which took me over 8 and a half hours from Brighton ( it was meant to take about 4 hours ).

I went to talk to and plan with Anna Potter from Swallows and Damsons for our Autumn workshop gathering in October, which got us both really excited…and apart from anything else I got to see her lovely shop!image ( and stay in a lovely hotel! )image I also went on to visit a friend near Bradford and decided to pop in on my mum on the way home…

Her garden is always lovely but on Sunday it looked amazing…image image image image image My mum planted all these things, as when she moved there it looked more like a building site…image …and then she got her secateurs out and started snipping things for me to take home…

This rose…image …is now this rose and smells wonderfulimage image image …and these tiny Kiftsgate roses didn’t survive the journey in the car very well, but they still smell incredibleimage image I love these really old roses, called Rosa Mundiimage image image image So just before I left I had a back seat full of flowers…image which needed almost as much attention as The Cheeks when I came in…and hopefully they’ll last me all week…with a bit of love and attention!image image

I just had to come and have a look after you commented on instagram about my Mum’s roses.. Your Mum’s garden is beautiful! I love visiting my Mum’s at this time of year, and always come back with flowers, roses usually, sometimes sweet peas, dahlias in September and cosmos. How lovely to visit Anna’s shop, I am a big fan of her work, I bet your workshop together will be utterly brilliant! x
