Monday…with Pumpkins

When my son was little we used to always go to Slindon in Sussex to buy our pumpkins from an old man who had the most amazing display of the pumpkins, squashes and gourds in his back garden/yard area,  which he’d grown himself. I hadn’t been for quite a few years and apparently he had died in 2009 ( You can read more here ). I wanted to collect a good selection for the workshop I’m running next weekend, so we drove over…

The village of Slindon  is so pretty and yesterday we had amazing Autumnal weather here, and everywhere you looked was photogenic…the shot below was literally from the drivers seat when I parked the car… There’s always a display of pumkins arranged into a picture and this year it’s a tribute to the 150th anniversary of the Shoreham Lifeboats … ( below is a poly tunnel where some of them are grown…) ( you can see the Steller story version here )
