21 Jul The Scottish Highlands ( Part 1 )

My brother wanted to take us on a fishing holiday to the Scottish Highlands…

I don’t fish and it’s a very long drive from Brighton, but I was up for the experience and I knew it would be beautiful…I couldn’t have anticipated the scale of the beauty though… We stopped off near to Penrith for the night, as it was over half way, before setting off in the morning on the long road to Glen Etive… where a mountain was basically the back garden… We were taught how to fly fish on the first day…I caught nothing all week but my son caught rainbow and brown trout and my brother caught a salmon… There was no internet….I hadn’t realised how full my head had become with digital business, and with a phone and 3G signal at least 11 and a half miles away up a very winding road, I was able to clear my head simply with the outdoors…

There was such an amazing overload of green, that when I did eventually organise some bits I’d collected from walking, they didn’t seem to represent where I was clearly enough…

Basically, there was so much in front of me tha last week I didn’t fancy looking down too much!You can see the Steller Stories of the trip here
