Tuesday….with colours

image

The flowers have started!

The survivors of the winter and every year feel like old friends are coming back to stay…

It just makes me very happy to be able to pick my own flowers and work with what appears…imageA couple of weeks ago the perennial wall flowers were full of buds ( which you can see here in this post ) and now they’ve flowered… and in the early morning they smell amazing…

imageThere is a lot of lush green about at the moment with montbretia, perennial peas and sage giving full leaf before they flower…

image The few grape hyacinths I actually have in the ground ( rather than in pots ) are so tall this year…maybe because they’ve been here much longer than me…image The Spanish bluebells are just appearing, and pretty soon they’ll have almost taken over the whole garden…image imageimageThe oxalis has suddenly flowered as well, which I think is much earlier than usual…

…and there are loads of forget-me-nots and dandelions in lots of places they shouldn’t be but I’ve been trying to embrace the dandelions rather than get annoyed at their monopoly of the lawn…

image …and amazingly the arum lily has appeared! I was a bit worried the plant was all going to die off and then this!…very excited!image So…everything on this table was basically ripe for the picking!image image image image ( and the Chemex/vase shows all the ends off beautifully too )image…as you can probably see, I’m getting massively excited about the months ahead!

I can’t believe you have all those varieties of flowers growing/flowering already, and all at the same time! they’re gorgeous together!
