Scented Tuesday…

I  am amazed ( and very happy! ) that for the first time EVER this year, I have managed to grow Sweet Peas with any degree of success.
I’ve been dying to have the delicate smell of my own, home grown ones around the house; it must be one of the most wonderful ambient joys there is…
They have flowered very closely to the gorgeously scented Pinks, so, this morning I decided to pick an aromatic bunch, and adding a sprig of Honeysuckle…

…at the bottom of the garden about 5 new Opium Poppies had opened overnight. I’ve never grown them before and last Autumn I simply scattered some seeds from an old, dried poppy head, and I just can’t get over how beautiful they are…
(…which then led to a combined picture for the table )
…however, on a different note, this isn’t great!!

LOVE the smell of Sweet Peas! I grew them some time ago, now I can find them at the free market so I buy a bouquet once in a while, but of course nothing as growing them yourself! Lovely pictures as always

The smell is so amazing, and so delicate too! It’s my biggest gardening accomplishment this year!!
